Hey everyone,

I just got an email from one of my friends who finished Turbofire and she's part of the way thru insanity....and she asked me to post the hybrid schedule that I'm following: Doing a change in your workout routines are a great way to break thru those upsetting plateaus. And at some point we have all hit them or you will hit them. (I have before too)!

WARNING::: This hybrid is intense, so you can change it or whatever. In the second month I did all of month 2 of insanity with mine. I looooooove this hybrid, because it just gives you a little of everything, and I miss TF so much that I was so excited to have it back.

So enjoy: And remember if you don't have any of these workouts go to to order them. You'll be glad you did!! (;

My salads and my way of eating them!

So I had a friend ask me to write a blog about salads I eat and how I eat them and don't ruin them with fatting dressings.

So before I never really liked salads (I must be honest) they weren't my favorite, I always thought I needed something with a "little" flavor and a salad wasn't going to cut it. Or if I did eat one I had to load it up with bleu cheese and lots and lots of dressings. I never ate grilled chicken on it, I would always want fried chicken or something fried on it.

My favorite salads were from places like Chilis, Jason's deli, or Corner bakery! (Well I thought hey I'm doing good, cause I ate a salad, I made a good choice right?!) WRONG! And boy was I wrong.

When I discovered Myfitness Pal on my phone, I couldn't believe the salads I "loved" so much! OMG!!! Lets start with my ALL TIME FAV from Chilis.......

1. Boneless buffalo chicken
                        Calories: 1010
                        Sodium:  4330mg

My #2 fav::::  Fried chicken salad.
                            Calories: 970
                           Sodium:   2170 mg

Jason's deli:   Chicken caesar(yes fried chicken)
                           calories:  880
                            Sodium:  2900mg

Corner bakery:   Harvest salad.
                             Calories: 860
                             Sodium:  1900 mg

Just to give you a few places and what I would order from them.

I changed all that, because when I saw all those numbers, I was like hell no wonder why I'm fat. OMG see this is all a learning process. Just cause you see it on the menu and it says SALAD does not make it "Good for you" read the fine print....

Now when I go out and eat and I want a salad at that time I ask the waiter/waitress if I can have olive oil and apple cider vinegar as my dressing. That small change will save you 100's of calories in the end, trust me. And not to mention 1000's of  MG of sodium too. Too much sodium can make you retain lots of fluid.(HELLO WEIGHT GAIN) NO THANKS!!!!! You only need about 2500 mg of sodium a day! Remember how many those salads above have in just one meal! Too darn much! And if you go out and they don't have that but you want nothing but a salad DON'T ORDER THE CREAM DRESSINGS. Get balsamic vinegarette instead.

These pics are the kind I buy from Walmart for my salads at home and a pic of ranch dressing and the BIG difference. I hope all this helped someone.

Then there's ranch
Make it a great one!

I'm a slacker!!(;

OMG!! I haven't blogged in days!! ( I'm such a slacker)! Well I wanted to update you all on what I've been doing lately. So me and the ladies signed up for our first 5k for this year, and it's on March 23(Saturday). I have to say....I am sooooo excited!! It's called the firefly run!! This run is awesome because (hold your breath for the best part).....IT'S A NIGHT RUNNNNN!! Yaaaay and you get to run with globe lights all over you and stuff!! Ok tell me that's not exciting and unique!!

It's 4 of us doing it so far. So yesterday we started jogging in Rowlett. Honestly I must say that, I ran all 4 miles and not one stop break or gasping for air!! (Thank you insanity. Oh and spin class)! I used to run before, but never was consistent with it, and I would always get bored, so needless to say I would quit!

Running is just one of those exercises you just have to build yourself upto and keep at it. Each week you can increase your mileage and eventually you'll be running a lot without even giving it much thought or worrying about how challenging it is. I would always find myself reading stuff about how to breathe and how to hold your posture and blah blah. But really I personally think that running/jogging is you have to find your own rhythm and go.

If you like music blasting in your ear (like me) then do that. If you like just being able to hear nature around you then, go for it. I'm not here to act like I know soooo much about running and all that, I'm just saying you have to have your way with running, and once you do it so much you'll start to adjust yourself and find what works for you. Another thing people fail to do with running is they worry soooo much about stopping and trying to go as fast as they can. I find that to be a bad thing. Never worry about stopping when you first learn, because you don't want to over train especially when you're just starting out. And hell take 700 breaks, taking breaks doesnt make you a bad runner. And never worry about how fast you're going, each AND every person has their own individual speed, not one person will be the same or feel the same, even if you and a friend were general the same pace.

I.E. I have a friend she can run 8.0 on the treadmill, but when I've cranked that sucker up to that speed I felt like a rat on a wheel and I said HELL NO, I'm not trying to die today! So see that was waaaay too fast for girlfriend over here. I couldn't breath. And I looked over at my friend, it was like she was taking a Sunday stroll in the park. EVERYONE is different. The important thing is at least you're trying. You just want to be safe and enjoy yourself while and after your run/jogs.

So yea I felt super ass accomplished yesterday, but shit I'm hurting today!! (: but I'm still happy I did it.

I love lukes Locker, RunOn and Dicks sporting goods!!! They will help you know what type of running shoe is a fit for you. If you are really serious about doing it, then go to one of these places or any place where you can ask someone to guide you in the right footwear direction. Because its not running that hurts you, it's not having to proper footwear that does the damage in the long run!

Have a good one!!

Hey we are just human!

If you fall off it's ok......

I was wanting to share with you guys some of the things I've encountered during my journey (and still encountering). At first I used to think it was the end of the world if I fell off from time to time, but I had to come to grips if I did that, then tomorrow is another day and I can do better, and that I'm only human ( I will screw up), we aren't perfect.

The important thing is dont make that one "splurge" meal be your everyday meal, but it is ok to treat yourself and reward yourself for all of your hard work every once in a while. You aren't going to go your whole life and not eat ice cream or a damn cookie. EAT THE COOKIE! It's ok, the important thing is stay active, keep moving. I didn't say eat a 5 cookies I said ONE COOKIE OR EVEN HALF!!! Come on, don't get carried away and say I said eat all you want now. No cause think about it, we all got unhealthy by eating the way we wanted and not caring what we would consume, but now that you are changing that, it's ok to LIVE!

Don't feel bad by eating something you enjoy every once in a while.

Don't make everyday bad or you'll end up right back to where you were.

Don't let people tell you that their diet was so perfect when they were losing, because those same people wish they would have just ate that DAMN COOKIE! And mouth probably watering for one now!!

Don't avoid things you used to eat, just be smarting about them

Don't diet your kids and family, just teach them better choices and that'll way everyone will learn together (the family that eat healthy together, will be healthy together for life)

Don't force yourself to make all these diet changes at once, incorporate them slowing( be the "turtle") it's ok!!!

Don't read everything you hear when it comes to losing weight fast and easy! Hell in that case we would all be at our perfect weight and wouldn't be here talking about it!

Don't forget to write down every single thing you eat(it'll show you info about the foods you've consumed) I LOVE MYFITNESS PAL!!!! Even write down the things that are BAD!

Lastly, don't forget to live and be a human being, life's to short to be worrying and stressing!!! Enjoy yourself learn to love you and the rest will fall into place!!

Make it a great day!! This is a "LIFE STYLE CHANGE"  not a DIET!!! Diet is a temporary thing we are doing this together for life baby!!!!

  3. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar.

  6. Bake uncovered for 15-30 minutes.

I worked with what I had.....

I worked with what I had at home then went to the gym.........

When I first started working out I did most of mine from the comforts of my own home. I mainly did this because I had a toddler here and I had mommy guilt for leaving him even to go to the gym. So I found things I could do with him and be healthy all at the same time. So, by June of 2012 I found Turbofire and things took off from there with my weight loss and motivation. I did the turbofire program for 5 months and I saw amazing results. I lost 27 pounds!!!!!!! I started it at 226lbs then finished the 20 weeks at a whopping 199 lbs!!!! Then at that point when I saw that on the scale, finally after 4 years of being in the 200's to finally be under, I couldn't have been more happy, and motivated. So after finishing Turbofire, I dared to enter the world of Shun T(creator of the Insanity program). And I'm telling you it was the most intense, psychotic workout I have ever done in my life!!!!!!!

I began day one with shaking hands and lots of prayers that I could get through this intense work out......... Lets just say...... I can proudly announce I completed all 60 days of it and not one skipped day..(now I didn't say that there wasn't days that I didn't want to throw in the towel and say the hell with this crap). I did want to do that pretty much everyday, but I'm a determined person and I don't give up that easy. I mean come on, I'm super perfect right?!? Lol not even quite.. But you get my drift, I'm human and (hell it was hard, cant deny it) I kept going and the end of it, it made me realize that I can tackle any other workout challenge that comes at me from that point on. I finished Insanity at an awesome 182 pounds. That's 17 whole BIG ONES in only 30 days. (The first 30 days I gained +1 pound of muscle, but 6 inches off and 2.5% body fat) hey I'll take that too. (Inches count)!!! So my point is insanity is AWESOME! But not just for the weight that I lost in that short period of time, but for the fact that it made me understand that I can push myself beyond my limits. <AND I CAN
REALLY DIG DEEPER> then I thought there was no way I was stopping there, I want to see what
other awesome things I could do with my body n have fun doing it. So present day, I weight 175 pounds and I'm doing a BRAND new hybrid that I made up myself (there's that perfect me again) lol!!! Kidding!!! But I did and I'll post it so if anyone wants to try it feel free. I started this 4 weeks and 4 days ago ( yea I know I'm late with this blog) and my weight was 182..... And so far -7 lbs!!!! So hey I did  pretty good combining them!!!(yes I'm patting myself)!!!! Hehehe.

Later on I'll go more into detail about rev abs ( if you want to beat me and check out what it is I put up beachbody's website. And I'll post me doing Rev abs soon as well. (It's a cardio abs program).  But this is my first time doing it so I'm still learning about it. (Geez can't be perfect all the time) (;
The first photo (in the black shirt) I was 226 <may 2012> second one is present day and <175Lbs>!

Love Cindy Slim Down!!!!

Pure cardio!

After Pure Cardio(exhausted)
So today I just finished pure cardio (now keep in mind I've done insanity for 2 rounds now) and it still kicks my ass!!! Lol!!! (Pardon my French) but its super true!!!!

Word about insanity is.....OMG!! It really is the hardest workout out there by far, but it's amazing and if you want to see some great fast results, I really 100% suggest it hands down! It's amazing for sculpting and changing all those problem areas we women and (men) too have that are a pain and stubborn to get rid of!!! So, enough said insanity gets you the results the fastest....BUT you must stick with it!!!!! So, what are you waiting for???!?!?? BUY IT!!!!!

My Very First Blog!!

Ok everyone don't judge me just yet! Lol This is my very first blog entry.... I promise to get better as time goes on ok?! So grit and bare with me through this learning process. So I guess you're probably like shut up and get to the point.. Ok I will then. First off my name is Cynthia, I'm 26 yrs old and I live in Dallas, Texas with my husand and son.

We are a regular family that do regular family things, so please don't think I'm perfect as you read the things that I will post on this blog. Oh, I babble a lot just warning ya'll. So, more about me and why I created this blog. First off, I looooooove to workout(ok I've not always loved it) but I do now, and you will see that a lot overtime. I love reading and writing, I love to cook as well(I will be sharing that part of me too on here). I'm in love with life and all the new things I've discovered about life along my "new life style" journey. Being healthy is very important to me, that's why I was so happy to create this blog and to be able to share my life story and my journey, because like I said I'm not perfect by any means at all. I just want to be able to inspire someone and make a difference in that one person's life.

I've been very blessed that there has been so many people who've made a difference in my life, I just wanted to give back. I will answer all your questions, I welcome them, and hell comments too, bring'em on. I just want this to be a positive place and drama free. I want to help any and everyone.
